Welcome!
The Dallas Chapter—American Guild of Organists presents "Pedals, Pipes & Pizza," an informational and entertaining introduction to the pipe organ for children and youth grades 3-12 on Saturday, 25 February, from 9am until 1pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Dallas.
This event will include a chance to play the organ, to hear performances by other youth, and to view the inner workings of this complicated instrument. Organbuilder Ross King will explain the mechanics of the instrument and will provide the opportunity to examine pipes, tune them, and even to make an organ pipe to take home. Attendees will view a video about the instrument, there will be door prizes, and the event will conclude with a pizza party. For more information, see the registration form and flyer, or email Sheryl Sebo. The cost is $6 per person, $10 for two siblings, or a maximum of $15 per family. Zion Lutheran Church is located at 6121 E. Lovers Lane, Dallas.
The Dallas Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, comprised of over 300 local musicians, exists to promote the organ in its historic and evolving roles, to encourage excellence in the performance of organ and choral music, and to provide a forum for mutual support, inspiration, education, and certification of its membership.
