Welcome!
Welcome to the web pages of the American Guild of Organists, Dallas chapter.
Dallas is one of the nation's most varied organ landscapes, enriched every year by new installations. The Dallas AGO is one of the Guild's most active chapters, a lively society of professional and amateur organists, choral directors, and other musicians and clergy involved in church music. The great strength of the Dallas AGO lies precisely in the exchange among these various perspectives. We invite you to become involved and to follow chapter events in our newsletter, the Crescendo.
Out ahead of the publication of our September newsletter, I want to take this opportunity to highlight our spectacular opening event, the return of Michael Barone and American Public Media's PIPEDREAMS LIVE! to the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Lay Family C. B. Fisk op. 100 on Monday evening September 13 at 7:00 pm. Admission is a modest $5, or $10 for Grand Tier seating, available through the Dallas Symphony at www.dallassymphony.com.
PIPEDREAMS LIVE! is sponsored by the Dallas and Fort Worth AGO chapters, WRR Classical 101.1-FM, and the Dallas Symphony.
In 2005, when PIPEDREAMS LIVE! last appeared at the Meyerson, people were turned away from a completely full hall: let's recreate that situation in 2010. The Lay Family Organ of the Dallas Symphony is one of the world's most magnificent concert organs, but it is infrequently heard in recital settings. Please join us for this all-too rare opportunity, and bring your friends!
Best wishes to you as we look forward to a wonderful fall season. Look for our September newsletter soon.
